Justice Richard Goldstone receives honorary degree

This year's Feinberg Lecture featured the world renowned Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, Richard J. Goldstone who was awarded with a Whittier College honorary degree: Doctor of Humane Letters. Goldstone spoke in the Shannon Center on Thursday, April 24, and discussed the United States' position in international affairs and his experience in the world political community.

Whittier to install new turf

Whittier College will see the last of its grass in the Memorial stadium as the field is replaced with new synthetic turf during the summer. The installation of Sprinturf will begin in late May. "It's a big project to accomplish," Head Football Coach BJ Hammer said.

Dog Gone Campus

If a student goes to visit their professors during office hours, they might find a wet nose and a wagging tail greeting them. Many professors bring their dogs to campus and can be seen walking them through the quad or the halls of the science building. No one is quite sure what has led to the canine proliferation on campus, but it may have something to do with the prime dog-walking territory and receptive students.

The play, originally written by German playwright Carl Sternheim and later adapted by Steve Martin, is a clever story that features an intriguing study of instant fame, politics and fidelity.

Looking back on four years: seniors on staff offer advice

It is the last issue of the Quaker Campus, which marks a feat much greater than simply producing a newspaper every week for the last academic year. For many of us on staff, the completion of this issue not only marks the end of the school year, but also marks the end of our entire Whittier College career.
